No Sound when Transforming in SlowGold (WinMe, Win98 or Win95)

First check the Help>About screen in SlowGold to make sure you are running the latest version (7.7). For information on upgrading click here.

Next go through the following list of settings which will solve the problem in most cases.

If the problem continues please email us the report requested below.

A. Confirm Recording Mode in SlowGold

1) From Settings menu>Recording tab, make sure that Digital recording option is selected (if it is grayed out go to step B).
B. Check the Properties for your CD ROM drive to make sure that the "Enable Digital Recording for this CD ROM Device" option is checked.
1. Close SlowGold,
2. Click the Windows Start Button, then Settings\Control Panel
3. From the Control Panel double click the System icon
4. From the System dialog click the Device Manager tab at the top of the dialog box
5. From the Device manager tab, click the plus sign next to the CD Rom icon. The item will expand to show your CD Roms. Locate the one that you use for CD Audio and right click on it, then choose properties from the menu that pops up
6. from the properties dialog of your CD ROM device, choose the Properties tab and make sure there is a check mark in the "Enable Digital CD Audio for this CD ROM device" option box.
7. Also from the Properties tab make sure the Volume for your CD  Player is set high enough.
8. Click OK, then open SlowGold and try it out again. If digital recording was previously grayed out in SlowGold, you should check SlowGold's Settings menu>Recording tab once again to see if you can now select digital recording.
9. If not able to select it because it is grayed out, continue to Step C.

C. Send us an ASPI Report
1. Download this file: www.slowgold.com/aspichk.exe (make sure to "save" it to your Windows Desktop to make it easy to find in a moment);
2. Go to your Windows Desktop and run the Aspichk.exe utility by double clicking on it.
3. In the window that opens click the "Save" button to create a text file and save it to your Desktop.
4. Send the report back to us as an email attachment to support@slowgold.comInclude information on what Operating System you are running, what version of SlowGold, and what you found when you did the steps above.

Please note: the file you are sending back to us is called "Aspichk.txt", not Aspichk.exe (which is the utility file you downloaded).
